1. When was Myers Industries founded?
In 1933, two brothers who saw an opportunity in the tire repair and retread industry started Myers Tire Supply in Akron, Ohio. Louis and Meyer Myers’ partnership was based on a $620 loan, some merchandise, and a used pick-up truck. From their small store, the brothers were dedicated to selling “everything for the tire dealer” including tire repair patches and hand tools. Learn more at our Timeline
   
2. Myers started as a distributor. When did manufacturing begin?
In 1946, as Myers Tire Supply expanded, the brothers started two manufacturing operations: Patch Rubber Company, to produce ready-made tire patches; and Akro-Mils, to produce plastic and metal storage products. 3. When did Myers Tire Supply become Myers Industries?

4. What are Myers’ products today?
In our four manufacturing segments, we design, manufacture, and market more than 12,000 plastic and rubber products, ranging from reusable plastic containers and plastic flower planters to rubber OEM parts and polymer-based reflective highway marking tape. We also custom mold products for special applications.
     In our distribution segment, we buy and sell nearly 10,000 different items used in tire, wheel, and undervehicle service and repair. These products range from small hand tools to large hydraulic lifts. Learn more at Product Brands or Business Segments Overview
    
5. Where is Myers located around the world?
Myers Industries has 25 manufacturing facilities. These include 20 in the United States (California, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas); 4 in Canada (British Columbia and Ontario): and 1 in Brazil. We have 43 distribution branches, with 36 covering most every major metropolitan area in the United States, and the rest covering Canada, Central America, and Brazil.
