INDUSTRIES NAMES JOHN C. ORR AS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 11, 2000, Akron, Ohio USA -- Stephen E. Myers, President and Chief Executive Officer of Myers Industries, Inc., named John C. Orr as general manager of the Companys Buckhorn subsidiary. Buckhorn is one of North Americas leading manufacturers of reusable plastic material handling containers and pallets. Mr. Orr, 49, retired last month from his position as vice president of manufacturing for The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Companys North American Tire Division. From his distinguished 28-year career with Goodyear, Mr. Orr brings to Buckhorn a wealth of experience in manufacturing, engineering, and logistics management. He joined Goodyear in 1972, and his early career was in production and plant management at facilities throughout the United States, in Canada, and in Australia. From 1991 to 1996, he was director of manufacturing for the Latin American Division. He was named vice president of manufacturing for the North American Tire Division in 1996. Buckhorn designs and manufactures a broad line of reusable plastic material handling products, from distribution containers to pallets and bulk shipping containers. The Company also provides services to help companies plan, design, and implement reusable container programs. Buckhorn products and services meet material handling needs in agriculture, automotive, distribution, food, industrial manufacturing, and other industries to help companies reduce waste and improve productivity and profitability. Headquartered in Milford, Ohio, Buckhorns manufacturing facilities are located in Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, and Ohio. Sales offices are located throughout North America. Myers Industries, Inc.
