DECLARES QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 24, 1997, Akron, Ohio -- Myers Industries, Inc. (AMEX: MYE) Board of Directors, at a meeting held today, declared a $.05 per share quarterly cash dividend payable July 1, 1997, to shareholders of record as of June 13, 1997.

Myers Industries, Inc. is a diversified manufacturer of polymer and metal products for industrial, commercial, and consumer markets; and a nationwide wholesale distributor of tire repair, and undercar service products.
