DECLARES REGULAR DIVIDEND

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 16, 1997, Akron, Ohio -- A regular quarterly dividend of $.05 per share was declared by Myers Industries, Inc. (AMEX: MYE) Board of Directors at a meeting held today. The dividend will be paid April 1, 1997, to shareholders of record as of March 14, 1997.

The Board announced the shareholders' annual meeting will be held at Myers Industries headquarters, 1293 S. Main St., Akron, Ohio, on April 24, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. with March 14, 1997 as the date of record.

Myers Industries, Inc. is a diversified manufacturer of polymer and metal products for industrial, commercial, and consumer markets; and a nationwide wholesale distributor of tire repair and undercar service products.
