DECLARES REGULAR DIVIDEND

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 23, 1997, Akron, Ohio -- A regular quarterly dividend of $.05 per share was declared by Myers Industries Inc., (AMEX: MYE) Board of Directors at a meeting held today. The dividend will be paid January 2, 1998, to shareholders of record as of December 12, 1997.

Myers Industries, Inc. is a diversified manufacturer of polymer and metal products for industrial, commercial, and consumer markets; and a nationwide wholesale distributor of tire repair, and undercar service products.
